"New Analysis" missing from menu

Hi,

I am trying to use the Analysis feature of Pentaho BI Server 5.0.1, but it doesn't appear anywhere.

All the documentation and educational material suggests that there should be a "New Analysis" option in the File Menu and in the big button on the dashboard.

Do I have to do something to activate the Analysis feature?

The server is running on Ubuntu 14.04 64-bit and OpenJDK 1.7.0_65.

I followed Francesco Corti's instructions to run the Pentaho BI Server like this:

Download file biserver-ce-5.0.1-stable.zip from Sourceforge.

http://sourceforge.net/projects/pent.../5.0.1-stable/

Unzip the file to a folder on my desktop called bserver-ce.

Start the server with this command:

./biserver-ce/start-pentaho.sh

Connect Firefox to http://localhost:8080, wait for the login screen, and then login as Admin.

Check the menus for the "New Analysis" option. It doesn't appear.

On 2014-05-02 another poster described the same problem:

I just installed it and used in a couple of examples. Here is the question: in the user console, under the FILE --> NEW--> I found several options some of them I had installed from the market place, BUT I have not the options "Analysis Report" and "Interactive Report" I saw in several educational videos (for exmple: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ysyFojVH9kc). What I missed? Are these options plugins or are a workaround to make them available?
There are no replies to the post.

Did anyone figure out what the issue was?

Thanks,
Iain
