Hi!
In my company we've been using Community Edition Pentaho 4, now I want to switch to version 6 and I'm not sure where to go. Let me briefly describe my needs:
- I want to use open source components (for variety of reasons)
- I need to collect data from a few databases to perform final BI analysis
- I would like to quit JPivot
Let me know if my understanding is correct:
- use Data Integration (Kettle - Spoon) to extract data from several databases into final database used for analysis
- use BI Server to define data sources via File - New - Data source (shall I use Schema Workbench/Mondrian instead?)
- install Saiku and design analysis (shall I use another tool?)
Is it a right way?
In other words: what would you recommend to convert data from a few databases into brilliant, good looking BI analysis, using only open-source components?
Regards,
Tomasz Judycki
