First Problems

dear pentaho users

I am very new to pentaho BA platform and facing some difficulties though i have experience in using DI with MySQL on windows 7.

I prepared/configured as follows:
-didn't stop antivirus program(in some places it's mentioned to do stop but in some not)
-downloaded biserver-ce-5.0.1.zip and extracted.
-copy/pasted mysql-connector-java-5.1.17.jar under biserver/tomcat/lib.

-double-clicked/run from cmd the file start-pentaho.bat

Does/Results:
- at first dark window appeared and disappeared.
- after writing pause in batch file, i saw a line like "command cscript is unknown".
--- i did write this command in batch file giving full path to it "%windir%/system32/cscript promptuser.js //nologo //e:jscript"
- so dark window only showed me the path stuff of pentaho_home catalina_home etc, but http://localhost:8080/pentaho did't start.
--- tried to checkup if the port is free: telnet and netstat.
- but on cmd these commands are all unknown. so entered full path to these commands. it showed the ip is not busy.
--- i thought it can't get command "call startup" worked. so i just double-clicked biserver-ce/tomcat/bin/startup.bat
- dark window (tomcat) opens with some error but is running.
- http://localhost:8080/pentaho is running. i can log in as admin or suzy etc.
---managed data source: set data source connections to MySQL.
!- BUT it shows nothing from sample datas (like steel wheels). gives errors.
!- i want to work with my own data from mysql tables, i click on File->New->DataSource and selected Source Type and Tables. if i select one table and click on finish, it says to wait but hangs for very long and doesn't end.

Could someone please give me a hint what i did wrong or what's wrong at all?
would appreciate your help so much.
