strange characters when upgraded to 6.0

hi

I've upgraded biserver-ce to version 6.0, everything is working ok but the reports that contained non english chars (ñ,é,ó) aren't working properly.
For instance, i got a report with a dropdown parameter to select country...

Albania
England
Espa˜a (instead of España)

So when selecting this country, nothing is found on database.

I've tried to install Spanish language pack but no success so far.


any help would be much appreciated
